About the Role

This role supports the work of the Local Government Chief Digital Officer to improve the skills, services and access to digital products throughout Wales. The Welsh local government digital team, based within the Welsh Local Government Association, is a growing team at the heart of public services reform. Our purpose is to help and support councils to provide the best digital services, to innovate and to help ensure services are inclusive.

Working closely with the Chief Digital Officer, digital and technical leaders across local government and health in Wales and the Centre for Digital Public Services in order to secure positive and lasting change on behalf of local government.  You will work with digital leaders, chief executives and council leaders, you will work with Ministers and digital leads across Welsh Government, the NHS and other partner bodies.

The Head of Agile Delivery, will manage a small agile, multidisciplinary team to help identify, understand and prioritise service improvements for our citizens.   The post-holder will seek to coordinate and develop the community of council digital, data and technical practitioners to maximise collective capacity, expertise and share learning, to contribute and support the delivery of better services to citizens and deliver on the wider improvement agenda.

You will provide strategic leadership on the digital transformation agenda for local government in Wales, supporting local government to build capacity and capability to take forward innovative technology and data-led approaches to service delivery and public engagement. You will help manage the Welsh Government’s £1m pilot Digital Transformation Fund which is available to maximise and identify opportunities to progress the digital transformation of local government in Wales.
